This Privacy Policy explains how DT24 ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you visit or use the Digitools24 Forum (the "Forum" or "Service").

The Forum is publicly viewable for guests. Downloading files and certain advanced features are available only to registered users. Registered users may upload file attachments to posts.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

  • When registering: username, email address, and password (stored hashed)

  • Voluntary profile information (e.g. avatar, signature, “about me”)

  • Forum posts, comments, private messages, and file attachments you upload

  • Any other content you voluntarily share

Automatically collected information:

  • IP address

  • Browser type and version

  • Device type and operating system

  • Date and time of visit

  • Pages viewed and actions taken (e.g. downloads)

  • Referral source

File uploads and downloads: When you upload files as attachments, we store the file, filename, file size, upload date, and link it to your user account. Uploaded files may be visible to other users or guests depending on the forum section. Downloads are restricted to registered and logged-in users.

2. Purposes of Data Processing

We process your data to:

  • Provide, maintain, and secure the Forum

  • Manage user accounts and authentication

  • Display your posts, profile, and uploaded files

  • Enable downloads for registered users

  • Prevent abuse, spam, and illegal content

  • Send important notifications (e.g. password reset, account information)

  • Analyze usage with Google Analytics to improve the service

  • Comply with legal obligations

Google Analytics We use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) to analyze user behavior. We have activated IP anonymization. Google processes data on our behalf. Advertising (planned) We may integrate advertising networks (such as Google AdSense) in the future. In that case, additional data processing by the respective providers will be carried out and this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

  • Technically necessary cookies for core functionality (login session, security, basic preferences). These cannot be disabled.

  • User account and posts: As long as the account exists or until you request deletion (subject to legal retention periods)

  • Uploaded files: As long as they remain on the Forum or until deleted by you or us

  • Log and access data (including IP addresses): Usually 7 to 30 days for security purposes

  • Analytics data: As long as needed for evaluation (typically up to 14–26 months with Google Analytics)
